Case Study 1

Rear garden design Tunbridge Wells

Challenge

Help create a safer and more unified rear garden space for the family to enjoy.

This needed to cope with the needs of adults, teenagers and younger children. It also had to help with the client’s desire to undertake more entertaining.

The client had a preference for extending the existing decking area.

The rear fence line created a hard and ugly border that needed softening.

A children’s playhouse was to be incorporated along with tropical plants.

A lighting scheme was also needed.

Solution

Gardenproud designed a framework that used decking panels and shuttering to create an attractive border around the garden, incorporating stepped levels and curves to help soften the garden shape.

An ugly terrace wall was blended into the scheme by using shuttering, then painted in a complimentary shade to the existing house.

Along the rear of the garden, a curved raised bed was built into which the children’s playhouse was incorporated, along with tropical planting. This helped raise the perception of adventure for the child, and helped to disguise the rear fence line.

The decking areas were further integrated by using large potted tropical plants, plus uplighting was fitted along all borders and at key points to help accentuate feature plants/trees.
